Gautam Buddha University (GBU)

Established under the Uttar Pradesh Act (9) of 2002, Gautam Buddha University held its inaugural academic session in August 2008 at its 511-acre, beautiful, green campus in Greater Noida. The Government of Uttar Pradesh's New Okhla Industrial Development Authority (NOIDA) and Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) provide the University with its whole funding. The University is a member of the Association of Indian Universities and is recognised by the University Grants Commission by the UGC Act.  Also, GBU is accredited with a B+ grade by the NAAC. Doctoral Programmes
Gautam Buddha University offers doctoral programmes leading to award of Doctor of Philosophy Ph.D degree. The course duration is 3 to 5 years. Some candidates also receive scholarship for research. There may be two intake Summer and Winter for Ph.D courses. In addition, university also offers part time Ph.D programmes.

Eligibility Criteria

B.A. LLB
The candidate who has successfully completed their 10+2 education in any stream at a school or college and met the BCI requirements, with a minimum of 45% for general, 42% for OBC (non-creamy layer), 40% for SC/ST, or an equivalent grade. Candidates who are awaiting the results of the qualifying exam may take the test as long as they can show documentation showing they passed it with the required score either in advance of or during counselling. The 3-year diploma or polytechnic course awarded by a government-approved institution will be accepted on an equal footing with a +2 certificate for entrance to the 5-year integrated LL.B. degree program.
Bachelor of Architecture
Qualifications completed the 10+2 examination scheme with mathematics and physics as required subjects, along with either computer science, biology, or chemistry as a technical vocational subject, or computer science, information technology, informatics practices, engineering, graphics, or business studies, with a minimum of 45% overall marks; or completed the 10+3 diploma examination with mathematics as required subject, valid NATA score, and at least 45% overall marks by COA eligibility criteria.
Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) (Applied Psychology)
Eligibility 10+2 in any subject from a legally recognised school or college with at least 45% of the possible points (40% for SC/ST students) or an equivalent grade.
Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) (Economics)
Eligibility 10+2 in any subject from a legally recognised school or college with at least 45% of the possible points (40% for SC/ST students) or an equivalent grade.
Bachelor of Commerce (Hons.)
Eligibility: A minimum of 50% in any stream (45% for SC/ST students) or an equivalent grade in 10+2.
Bachelor of Science (Hons.) (Applied Psychology)
Eligibility 10+2 in any subject from a legally recognised school or college with at least 45% of the possible points (40% for SC/ST students) or an equivalent grade. A B.Sc. (Hons.) degree would be awarded to scientific stream students.
Bachelor of Science (Hons.) (Environmental Science)
National Student Eligibility Requirements: 10+2/Higher Secondary Science Stream with required Chemistry and Physics, with a minimum of 50% (45% for SC/ST) or an equivalent grade. For overseas students: a minimum of 50% on the qualifying test or an equivalent grade in science (10+2 with prerequisite courses).
Bachelor of Social Work
Eligibility 10+2 in any subject from a legally recognised school or college with at least 45% of the possible points (40% for SC/ST students) or an equivalent grade.
Bachelor of Technology (Civil Engineering)
Qualifications passed the three-year or two-year (lateral entry) diploma exam in any field of engineering and technology with at least 45% of the possible points (40% for applicants in the reserved category). OR * A Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited university as specified by the UGC, with a minimum of 45% of the possible points (40% for applicants in the reserved category), and a passing grade in mathematics for the 10+2 exam. OR completed the D.Voc. Stream in the allied or same sector.
Bachelor of Technology (Computer Science and Engineering)
Specialization (Artificial Intelligence)
Qualifications passed the three-year or two-year (lateral entry) diploma exam in any field of engineering and technology with at least 45% of the possible points (40% for applicants in the reserved category). Qualifications: 10+2, required subjects: mathematics and physics obtained at least 45% (or 40% for SC/ST students) in the combined subjects listed above OR in accordance with AICTE guidelines.
Doctor of Philosophy (Computer Science and Engineering)
Qualifications A master's degree (M.Tech, M.Sc., or ME) in computer science, information technology, or related fields, or an MCA with at least 55% of the possible points (50% for SC, ST, OBC, Non-creamy layer, Differently Abled, or EWS students), or a grade that is equivalent.
Doctor of Philosophy (Education)
Qualifications Master's Degree in Education or relevant disciplines with minimum 55% aggregate marks (50% in case of SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/ Differently-abled/EWS) or its equivalent grades.
Master of Philosophy (Clinical Psychology) [RCI Recognized]
Qualifications a master's degree in psychology from any legally recognised university or college with a minimum grade of 55% (or 50% for SC/ST students) or an equivalent.
Post Graduate Diploma (Polyurethane Technology)
Qualifications A minimum of 45% marks (40% for SC/ST) or an equivalent grade must be earned for a bachelor's degree with chemistry as one of the subjects, a B.Sc. (Hons.) Chemistry degree, a B.E./B.Tech. in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Plastic Rubber, Polymer Technology, or an M.Sc. in Chemistry from a recognised university or college established by law. The basis for selection will be a certified GBU-ET score.

Admission procedure

The Gautam Buddha University offers admission to different courses based on entrance test. However, for some courses university may offer admission based on merit in qualifying examination. For latest admission guidelines see Notifications.

Academic Session

The classes for the first year usually begin in the first week of August.

GBU Examination

The semester examination is usually conducted in August and December for the odd semesters and for the even semester, the examination is usually conducted in March and May.

Gautam Buddha University Placement

The GBU placements in previous years have been positive and inspiring. With the highest compensation package of 12 lakh per year and the average package of 5 lakh per year, over 75% of students were placed from the institution.
