Maa Shakumbhari University

Maa Shakumbhari University is a state university in the village of Punwarka, Saharanpur district, Uttar Pradesh, India. It is formed by the Uttar Pradesh State Universities Act of 2019. The university was opened on December 2, 2021, by Honourable Home Minister Sri Amit Shah and Honourable Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Sri Yogi Adityanathji, in the presence of Honourable Deputy Chief Minister Sri Dinesh Sharma and Honourable Union Education Minister Sri Dharmendra Pradhan. The foundation stone for the university's intended grandiose structure was also placed. The university and residential campus are being built on 50 acres of land.

The university is currently housed at Punwarka's Government College. The University will benefit all of the connected colleges, which include 11 aided colleges, 8 government colleges, and 193 self-financed colleges. The university's jurisdiction is Saharanpur Mandal, which includes three districts, Saharanpur, Muzaffarnagar, and Shamli. This university will help an estimated 1.5 lakh students. Previously, these colleges were associated with Meerut's Chaudhary Charan Singh University.

The university was formerly titled Saharanpur State University but was later renamed Maa Shakumbhari University by the government. The U.P. State Universities Amendment Bill 2021, which provides for the University's name, was enacted by the State Assembly on August 3, 2021. Sri Dinesh Sharma, the Honourable Deputy Chief Minister, released a statement stating that the ancient temple of Goddess Shakumbhari Devi in Saharanpur district is one of India's most famous 'Shakti Peeths'.

Eligibility Criteria for Top Courses

The eligibility requirements are the same as in any other college. The admission process begins with completing the application form, either offline or online, and then registering your name by submitting the required admission form. Admission will be based on the merit list and a counseling session.

Some of the eligibility criteria are:

M.A (Hindi / Sanskrit / English and Cultural Studies)
Bachelor’s Degree with minimum 45% marks in the relevant subjects

M.A (Political Science)
Bachelor’s Degree in any stream with at least 50% scores with Political Science as the main subject

M.Sc (Mathematics)
Passed B.Sc with Mathematic as the major subject with at least 50% scores

M.Com
Bachelor’s Degree with minimum 50% marks with Commerce or Management

MBA
Obtained UG degree with Statistics, Mathematics, B.Sc (Computer Science), BCA / BE / B.Tech with not less than 50% marks in aggregate

LL.M
Passed LL.B (3 or 5 years course) with at least 50% scores

M.Ed
Passed B.Ed / BT / LT with not less than 55% marks
