Nehru Gram Bharati

Nehru Gram Bharati (Deemed to be University) has held a prestigious position among India's rural universities for many years. Founded on June 27, 2008, this institute in Uttar Pradesh shows great potential and is located by the Ganges River. Our first Prime Minister of India, the late Pt., was essentially the one who came up with the idea. Jawahar Lal Nehru, established Nehru Gram Bharati in the village of Rishi Durvasha Ashram, Kotwa-Jamunipur, Dubawal Complex on 26th July 1962 in his Phulpur constituency in Allahabad (now Prayagraj) District. Sri J. N. Misra turned his dream into a reality by having a strong vision and commitment to improving the lives of rural people through education.

Currently, the campus is seen as a leading institution offering professional, technical, and traditional education to fulfill the dreams of young people from both rural and urban areas. Rajiv Gandhi Degree College, established in 1996, became Rajiv Gandhi Post Graduate College in 2000-01 and later merged into Nehru Gram Bharati (Deemed to be University) in 2008-09 on recommendation of University Grants Commission to Ministry of Human Resource & Development (now Ministry of Education) for Deemed to be University Status. The MHRD announced through its official gazette dated 27th June 2008 that Nehru Gram Bharati has been granted the status of Deemed to be University.

The Nehru Gram Bharati (Deemed to be University) consists of six campuses covering around 74 acres of land dispersed within a 5-kilometer radius. The campuses listed are:

Undergraduate Courses

The campus is providing a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours/Honours with Research) as stated in the New National Education Policy-2020, starting from 2023-24.

Bachelor of Science (Honours/Honours with Research) in Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Mathematics, and Physics will be available at this campus following the New National Education Policy 2020 starting in 2023-24.

This campus provides various teacher education programs such as Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.), Bachelor of Special Education (Hearing Impairment), Bachelor of Special Education (Intellectual Disability), Diploma in Special Education (D.Ed.Spl.Ed.[HI]), Diploma in Special Education (D.Ed.Spl.Ed.[IDD]), Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.), and Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.).

Master of Arts (In Ancient History, Pol. Science, Hindi, Education, Sanskrit, English, Economics, Sociology, Home Science, Philosophy & Geography),

Master of Commerce

Master of Science (In Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Mathematics and Botany), Master in Education (M.Ed.), Master of Special Education in Hearing Impairment (M.Ed.Spl. Ed.[HI] and Ph.D. Programmes in the relevant disciplines are being offered on this campus.

Scholarship

Scholarships are offered by the university through National funding Agencies in various categories. The Department of Atomic Energy, Govt. of India-BRNS, UGC, DST, Women Scientist Fellowships (WOS-DST), Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship, ICSSR, and other Government funding agencies provide financial support. UGC/DST offers specific scholarships for women researchers.
