Prof. Rajendra Singh University

Professor Rajendra Singh (Rajju Bhaiya) institution (PRSU), formerly Allahabad State University, is a state institution in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, India. It was established in 2016 and has jurisdiction over four districts in the Prayagraj division.

Allahabad State University was founded under the Uttar Pradesh State Universities (Amendment) Act of 2013, which sought to establish a state university in Prayagraj after the University of Allahabad was elevated to the level of a central university, leaving the district without a state institution. The statute awarded the university control over the colleges in the four districts of Prayagraj division, Prayagraj, Kaushambi, Fatehpur, and Pratapgarh, which were previously affiliated with Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University and Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh University.

However, due to issues in transferring the land, the university's construction was postponed until 2016, when it was reported in the 2016 budget that funding had been allocated and the land had been designated for the institution, resulting in the university's formal establishment date of June 17, 2016. In 2018, following Allahabad's renaming to Prayagraj, plans were made to rename the university. In 2019, the institution was renamed after Rajendra Singh via an ordinance[6], which was then replaced by the Uttar Pradesh State Universities (Amendment) Act, 2019.

PRS University Admission

Allahabad State University admissions are based on both merit and entrance exams. Allahabad State University, presently known as Prof. Rajendra Singh (Rajju Bhaiya) University, admits students to its Integrated (UG + PG) and PG programmes on a merit basis. The university campus and its constituent colleges have an entrance exam called the Common Entrance Test (CET).
