Uttar Pradesh University of Medical Sciences (UPUMS)

Located in Saifai in the Etawah District of Uttar Pradesh, India, the Uttar Pradesh University of Medical Sciences—formerly known as the U.P. Rural Institute of Medical Sciences and Research—is a public university that houses a medical school, hospital, and medical research.[2] It was created following the Uttar Pradesh government's Act 15 of 2016 upgrade of the UP Rural Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, which had been founded in 2005.

Postgraduate and Super-speciality Courses

In addition to the M.Ch. program, the university offers postgraduate programs in MSc MLT (06 seats), MRIT (06 seats), M.P.T. (12 seats), M.D. and M.S. (106 seats) under the faculty of Medicine, and M.D.S. in Periodontology (03 seats) under the faculty of Dental SciencesAdditionally, postgraduate programs for M. Pharm. (24 seats) and M.Sc. Nursing (15 seats) have been launched within the Pharmacy and Nursing faculties, respectively.

UPUMS Admission

For MBBS and MDS programs, candidates must apply for NEET and NEET MDS, respectively. The accepted admission test is also used to apply for MS, MD, and MCh positions. Candidates must complete the application form found on the university website for all other courses.

Positioning
Medical research and education are the main priorities of Uttar Pradesh University of Medical Sciences (UPUMS). Even while the university does not place as much emphasis on traditional placement procedures as engineering colleges do, graduates—especially those who took courses like MBBS—frequently land internships and jobs in reputable hospitals and healthcare facilities. Because of its affiliation with a state-of-the-art hospital, there are plenty of opportunities for clinical practice.

The majority of postings are made possible via government recruiting drives for medical personnel or national exams like the NEET-PG for postsecondary education.

UPUMS Placement

UPUMS has a 98% placement record. According to the 2024 NIRF report, the median packages offered in 2023 were INR 1.92 LPA for UG 4-year placements, INR 2.4 LPA for UG 5-year placements, and INR 14.75 LPA for PG 3-year placements.

Some companies that recruit from UPUMS include TCL, Infosys, M cure pharmaceutical, Sun pharma Pvt ltd, and Mankind Pvt ltd.
